AEK Athens Football Club is a professional football club based in Nea Filadelfeia, Athens, Greece. The club first participated in a European competition in 1961. The club has gained entry to Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) competitions on multiple occasions. Note: The match was originally scheduled for 8 August as the first leg of the tie, but on the eve of the match, over 100 ultras of Dinamo Zagreb, despite the ban by UEFA,[4] reached the stadium of AEK, causing incidents and attacking the locals, which resulted in the death of a fan of AEK.[5] UEFA decided to postpone the match[6] and reschedule it for 19 August as the second leg of the tie.[7]
