The Brazilian Academy of Sciences (Portuguese: Academia Brasileira de Ciências or ABC) is the national academy of Brazil. It is headquartered in the city of Rio de Janeiro and was founded on May 3, 1916.

It publishes a large number of scientific publications, among them the Anais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências [1] (2020 IF 1.280).[2] At the same time, it is in charge of granting prestigious international awards for outstanding work in scientific endeavors.[3]
