The Good Man (Korean: 착한 사나이) is an upcoming South Korean television series starring Lee Dong-wook, Lee Sung-kyung, and Ryu Hye-young. It is scheduled to premiere on JTBC in the first half of 2025.
Synopsis
[edit]The Good Man depicts the struggles of Seok-cheol, the eldest grandson of a three-generation gangster family, to protect his family, job, and love.

[edit]The Good Man was directed by Director Song Hae-sung and written by Writer Kim Woon-kyung. It is co-produced by Hive Media Corp and High Ground.[3]
Casting
[edit]On September 29, 2022, Starship Entertainment told Newsen that Lee Dong-wook had been offered to star in the series and is in discussions.[4] It was reported that Lee had confirmed his appearance in the series.[5]
On March 3, 2023, King Kong by Starship told Newsen that Ryu Hye-young is in positive discussions to appear as Seok-cheol's upright younger sister, Park Seok-hee in the series.[6] Ryu had chosen the JTBC drama The Good Man as her next project.[7] On November 15, 2023, YG Entertainment told Newsen regarding Lee Sung-kyung appearance in the series that they had received an offer and was reviewing it.[8] Lee had been cast in the series and is currently filming as reported by My Daily News on May 28, 2024.[9]
On January 24, 2024, according to Joy News 24, Oh Na-ra had confirmed her appearance in the series.[2] On August 27, according to Hankook Ilbo Park Hoon is reported to appear in the series.[10]
Filming

Release
[edit]The Good Man is scheduled to premiere on JTBC in the first half of 2025.[10][3]
