Description: In 1874 W. J. Oliphant published a series of stereoscopic views of a Texas buffalo hunt. The photographs were taken in and around Taylor County, near present-day Abilene and Buffalo Gap, by an Oliphant friend and part-time employee, George Robertson. This view shows Robertson seated in front of his hide-covered tent. Source: Lawrence T. Jones III.
