Summary

Description
English: An Allosaurus fossil on display in Guyot Hall, home to the Geosciences Department of Princeton University. It was excavated at the Cleveland Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry in 1941 by a team led by Professor Glenn Jepson, but World War II broke out and the bones were not mounted until the 1960-1961 period. The labelling of this specimen, at the time, was "Antrodemus (Allosaurus)". Different bones from different individuals were necessary to obtain this final mount, which was first unveiled to the public in Guyot Hall in February 1961, remaining unchanged since then. The skeleton, which is 25 feet long and 12 high, is real fossilised bone except for the skull. That skeleton is a remnant of the natural history museum housed on the first floor of Guyot from 1910-2002, and was not removed because the cost was too great.
