English: "Broken Hill Skull" from Kabwe, Zambia (replica, Museum Mauer, near Heidelberg, Germany). Type specimen of Homo rhodesiensis, renamed as Homo erectus, also sometimes named Homo heidelbergensis or "archaic Homo sapiens".
Deutsch: "Broken Hill Skull" aus Kabwe, Sambia. Der Schädel wurde (als Typusexemplar) zunächst Homo rhodesiensis benannt und später zu Homo erectus gestellt. Seit den 1990er-Jahren wird er von einem Teil der Forscher als afrikanische Variante von Homo heidelbergensis ausgewiesen, und gelegentlich wird er auch als "archaischer Homo sapiens" bezeichnet.
