Summary

Description
English: A diver uses a model DS-3 diver terminal, part of an AquaMap long baseline (LBL)acoustic positioning system manufactured by Desert Star Systems to precisely navigate across the sea floor and electronically record observations. The terminal and its associated sonar transducer and transponder are mounted on a kickboard that helps the diver to swim straight lines. The terminal shows the current position, a position trace and waypoints to indicate locations of interest or previously observed sites. Accuracy is in the 0.1m to 1m range, depending on setup.
