Summary

Description
English: A view of the east facing, seaward side of Earnscliff House, the home of Charles and Louisa Williamson in Belmont, now designated 44 Williamson Avenue. This Victorian Gothic style house was built in 1882 and comprises two storeys, six steeply pitched gables on either side, bay windows, a portico covered front door and verandah on the face visible in the photograph. The house is constructed of composite concrete. This picture taken in the 1890s shows a female member of the family and a maid in the garden. The garden landscape is relatively young with the most established plant being a pampas bush. Auckland Libraries Heritage Collections T6771
