The MTA’s FASTRACK program swept into the Bronx earlier this week, hitting the Grand Concourse Line with a maintenance and clean-up blitz that sent an army of workers through tunnels and stations repairing and replacing items from light bulbs to rails.

FASTRACK came to the Bronx as work was done on the B&D lines between 155th St. and 205th St., as seen on January 18, 2013. The program, which involves shutting down a section of the subway system for several consecutive nights, allows necessary repair and inspection work to occur more efficiently and safely. Rails have been given a surface scraping to ensure trains run smoothly over them.
