Description
English: Golden Gates at Bowood Viewed from the Lansdowne Arms. Built in 1840 by Sir Charles Barry for the Earl of Shelburne as the main entrance to the 2,000 acre Bowood House estate (Capability Brown). Now the entrance to Bowood Golf and Country Club. Visitors to Bowood use a different entrance.
