According to Wellington Airport, the sculpture was created by a team of some 18 Weta Wetashop sculptors, painters, and other specialists, with art direction by Workshop Supervisor Rob Gillies.[1][2] Other sources credit the sculpture solely to Japanese artist Masayuki Ohashi.[3]
