English: Gules, three clarions or. This is the modern design of the clarion, adopted circa 17th century. The ancient version, as seen on the tomb of Sir Thomas Grenville (d.1513) in Bideford Church, shows the clarions as more clearly discernable musical instruments (see other versions).
Français : De gueules à trois claricordes d'or. Il s'agit d'une version moderne du claricorde adopté autour du 17ème siècle. L'ancienne version, que l'on peut voir sur la tombe de Sir Thomas Grenville (décédé en 1513) dans l'Eglise de Bideford, montre les claricordes comme des instruments de musique (cf. autres versions).
