Summary

Description

The photo was taken from the top floor of General Directorate of Turkish Red Crescent. We see Kızılay Park, Güven Park and Güven Monument. The left line of the Atatürk Boulevard also can be seen. The highest building with a tower is the Cemil Uybadın Villa which sits on a big garden.

Hemen belli oluyor. Cemil Bey’in köşküdür.

1906 yılında Erkân-ı Harp Kolağası Mustafa Kemal Bey sürgün kokan bir hava içerisinde yeni görev yerine, Şam’a gönderilmiş. Yalnız Şam’da durmayıp gizlice Mısır’a geçecek. Oradan gemiye biniyor, doğduğu kente, Selânik’e. Gemi limana geliyor. Ama limanda kontrol sıkı, inmek, kente girmek olanaksız. Yardımına Selânik Merkez Komutan Muavini Mümtaz Yüzbaşı Cemil Süleymaniye Bey yetişiyor. Onu gemiden alıp, kente sokuyor. Cemil Süleymaniye, Cumhuriyet yıllarında Mehmet Cemil Uybadın’dır. Mebus oldu.
