English: Mappa Mundi and Chained Library are housed here This is the award-winning New Library Building at Hereford Cathedral. The chamber is specially designed so the books can be seen in their original arrangement - as it was from 1611 to 1841. Mappa Mundi records how 13th century scholars interpreted the world, in both spiritual and geographical terms. The scholars placed Jerusalem at the centre of the world. It's a truly fascinating map.
