Summary

Description
English: Description:

Illustration for the Sagnac effect article. The red and blue dots represent counterpropagating signals. The velocity of the signals is the same in both directions. This equalness of velocities constitutes a constant background. The grey dots represent resonators for the signals. Due to the fact that the resonators have a velocity with respect to the background, the signals will have different frequencies.
