Description

Sailing boat 'Isbjörn' anchored in front of some glacier in Spitsbergen.

This photograph was taken by Austrian photographer en:Wilhelm J. Burger when he accompagnied the Wilczek expedition which was needed to prepare the Payer-Weyprecht expedition.

It is one of the earliest documents from that region, and it is held by (and, to some extent, "was stolen from" ;) Vienna's en:Albertina museum.
