Summary

Description
English: Locomotive at the Cooktown Railway Station, ca. 1889 The locomotive is either No. 2 or No. 3 of the Cooktown Railway. If it is No. 2 it would have been landed new at Cooktown off the ship 'Duke of Sutherland' in May 1886, and in 1889 would have been renumbered No. 200 of the Q.G.R. fleet of locos. If No. 3 it would have been landed new at Cooktown off the 'Duke of Westminster' in 1887 and renumbered 201 in 1889. The boiler is painted grey which is assumed to be the colour it bore when sent from the builder Dubs & Co. of Glasgow. (Description supplied with photograph).
