Summary

Description
English: Bass Strait ferry Nairana, a turbine steamship built in 1914–15 by William Denny and Brothers of Dumbarton, Scotland. When the First World War broke out the Admiralty took over the uncompleted ship and had her completed as a seaplane carrier. In the saloon she had a brass plate telling of her war record. (From description supplied with photograph). In 1921 she was restored to her civilian owner Huddert Parker, and in 1922 she was transferred to Tasmanian Steamers. She was scrapped in 1953–54.
