Summary

Description
English: Diagram of a distillation setup using a Bunsen burner, a retort with thermometer, a simple air-cooled straight tube condenser, and a collecting Erlenmeyer flask. A chimney over the burner and a shield around the retort are indicated, for better heating.

The source for this image is the 1921 book Standard and tentative methods of sampling and testing highway materials : recommended by the Second Conference of State Highway Testing Engineers and Chemists, Washington, D.C., Feb. 23-27, 1920, published by the United States. Bureau of Public Roads Second Conference of State Highway Testing Engineers and Chemists.
