The seventh-generation iPad Mini (stylized and marketed as iPad mini (A17 Pro) and colloquially referred to as iPad Mini 7) is a tablet computer in the iPad Mini line, developed and marketed by Apple Inc.[2] It was announced on October 15, 2024. Its predecessor, the sixth-generation iPad Mini, was discontinued on the same day. It is available in four colors: Space Gray, Starlight, Blue, and Purple.[3]

It is powered by an Apple A17 Pro chip, which Apple says has a 30 percent faster CPU, 25 percent faster GPU and a neural engine twice as fast as the previous generation. This model is marketed by Apple as built for Apple Intelligence, the upcoming artificial intelligence features. The storage on the lowest-priced variant has increased from 64GB of the previous generation to 128GB. The new Wi-Fi 6E chip is faster, the USB-C port is faster compared to the previous generation. [2][4]

Accessories

[edit]

The seventh-generation iPad Mini is compatible with Apple Pencil (Pro and USB-C).[2] Compatibility with Magic Keyboard for iPad or the Smart Keyboard Folio isn't possible due to its smaller form factor.
