The result of the move request was: move the page to Appleby railway station and the disambiguation page to Appleby railway station (disambiguation), per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 00:09, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Appleby railway station (Cumbria)Appleby (Cumbria) railway station – To bring the station into line with the general naming convention applied to other stations including Brampton (Cumbria) railway station and Bromfield (Cumbria) railway station, according to which the disambiguator follows directly after the station name. --Relisted. • Comment. This is a trickier one than most of them. It is not the primary topic for "Appleby railway station" (that's a dab) so some form of disambiguation is necessary, but it is not ambiguous with any current railway station in the UK so Network Rail don't disambiguate it, meaning the official name is "Appleby" not "Appleby (Cumbria)". The ambiguity of the name was resolved by renaming the station "Appleby West" with the other Apppleby station in Cumbria becoming "Appleby East" (neither of which names are ambiguous for Wikipedia's purposes either) shortly after nationalisation (presumably "LMS" or "LNER" served as disambiguators previously). Only after both Appleby East and Appleby (Lincolnshire) were closed and thus there was no disambiguation needed was the "West" dropped from the name. Had the Lincolnshire station remained open though, or were it to reopen, then no crystal ball is needed that this would (have) become "Appleby (Cumbria)". I need more time to think about what we should call this article. Thryduulf (talk) 01:08, 19 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. In view of what Thryduulf says, I suggest as an alternative:
Appleby railway stationAppleby railway station (disambiguation)
Appleby railway station (Cumbria)Appleby railway station, with an {{Other uses}} hatnote. All the other Appleby stations are closed except for Appleby GO Station whose title doesn't clash with my suggested title. -- Dr Greg  talk  13:33, 19 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
