I am getting the point - and will not edit any more castle articles - it seems I've stepped into a turf war. This article had so many issue and I cannot see the need to revert all the work done cleaning up citations, adding sources, teasing out the historical info and removing the extraneous detail.

I promise castles can stay your domain, but it's insulting to have such hard work reverted to such an unfinished version.--CaroleHenson (talk) 09:03, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Seriouly, I promise that I won't step in on any more castle articles, but can we settle this rationally? If needed, I'll find the guideline for not replacing cited material with uncited materia.--CaroleHenson (talk) 09:03, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Since there seems to be an emotional reaction to my WP:Bold editing, I'll summarize what I did:
  • Created a history section, pulling information from the intro and other places so that it was presented chronologically.
  • Cleaned up and completed incomplete citations
  • Summarized the cite survey information, using the summary information from the surveys themselves and articles about the surveys.
  • Removed redundant citations.
This was really so bad that it had to be reverted to its earlier, state that wasn't in accordance with WP:MOS, WP:Detail, WP:Citing sources and other guidelines?--CaroleHenson (talk) 09:28, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Carole, it's nothing to do with being "emotional", or "edit warring". I've commented on your own talk page about what I think the issues are. Ghmyrtle (talk) 09:35, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
