I would like to include the link http://www.delightfuldeliveries.com to the external links page. This company has been ranked America's #1 Gift Basket Website by about.com http://gourmetfood.about.com/od/wheretobuygourmetfoods/tp/giftbasketwhere.htm.

This company has also been listed as a top 100 website on Internet Retailer Magazine http://www.internetretailer.com/uploads/2008Hot100List102507.htm

For these reasons's this company should be referenced as a link on the "Gift Baskets" wiki page because as a resource wikiepedia should link to a website recognized as the premiere source for gift baskets. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jakavan (talkcontribs) 23:09, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't matter. That web site exists solely to sell products, and it's not appropriate to list a US-centric commercial site on Wikipedia which has a worldwide audience. Wikipedia is not a place to advertise anything. If the site is notable, then write an article about it and see if it survives the inevitable deletion proposals that will result. =Axlq (talk) 00:12, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, it's not appropriate to directly link to stores/commercial sites here. I've pulled out the links to stores and replaced them with a link to DMOZ.org, which would be an appropriate place to add your link. - Ehheh (talk) 15:48, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

References etc.

[edit]

I have not yet found reference sources that I find suitable for this page, but I will keep looking. I am hoping that we can all let it slide for a little while being that this is such a new page, and it's not as if Gift Baskets are so super important!

If anyone should stumble across some good references, please add them! If you think of anything good for a 'see also' section, that would be fun.

Also, feel free to add to the lists.

Thanks for your help, and if you have any concerns with anything I've done, bring it up here; I'd really like that. Eddie mars 17:51, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gift Basket Industry

[edit]

It might be nice to have some back ground on the gift basket industry for the US and other areas. I've found some information on it at the Fruit Basket Review. They had a decent view of the online history, not sure what the brick and mortar history looks like though. It would be nice to get some more information about both. Notability

[edit]

I have removed the "importance" tag from the article. There is certainly enough information on the topic to warrant an article. However, it is quite difficult to find some vendor-independent links. I have added some book references now, in order to show that sources exist. Still the article could certainly use better sourcing.

Sorted as part of the Notability wikiproject. --B. Wolterding (talk) 13:33, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merger of Fruit bouquet

[edit]

The article looks like the merge was poorly thought.

[edit]

Suggest unmerge. If the only article is the merged article, then that's bad. A gift basket is not a fruit bouquet. They are distinct things. Drsruli (talk) 00:12, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
