  • ... that Islamabad High Court ordered the zoo officials to relocate elephant Kaavan from Islamabad Zoo to a suitable sanctuary following a four-year campaign by pop singer Cher? Source: "You are strongly encouraged to quote the source text supporting each hook" (and [link] the source, or cite it briefly without using citation templates)
    • ALT1:... that elephant Kaavan was gifted by the Sri Lankan government to Pakistan's dictator general Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq in 1985? Source: "You are strongly encouraged to quote the source text supporting each hook" (and [link] the source, or cite it briefly without using citation templates)
    • ALT2:... that Pop singer Cher initiated a campaign #SaveKaavan in 2016 demanding for the release of Kaavan from Islamabad Zoo?

  • New enough, long enough, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. The first hook looks best. But I have some questions about the neutrality. There is a glaring lack of balance in the article. The zoo's explanations for what was going on are not mentioned at all. (For example, the sources say that the elephant was doing badly because he needed a new mate, who was on the way.) The subhead Campaign by Cher focuses unduly on the singer; there were other efforts being made during this time. It's unclear why this section starts with a 2015 petition but doesn't explain why that petition was lodged. I added some "citation needed" tags. No QPQ needed for nominator with less than 5 DYK credits. Yoninah (talk) 16:19, 6 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality

[edit]

I have tagged this article because there is a glaring lack of balance here. Yoninah (talk) 22:05, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality concerns addressed and tag removed. Added image from Commons and removed image-requested template from this page. Schazjmd (talk) 20:52, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of infobox

[edit]

Hello Schazjmd, you recently removed the infobox from this page, stating that it was useless. What was your basis for this conclusion? Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 05:03, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Revirvlkodlaku, I like infoboxes, but they don't add value to every article. In this article, there was nothing in the infobox that wasn't in the first paragraph; when an infobox is that sparse, I don't think it's very useful. If you disagree and put it back, I won't argue about it. Schazjmd (talk) 14:00, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the explanation, Schazjmd. I'm partial to infoboxes myself, though I agree with you that they don't always add value to an article. I'd like to try adding the image you put on the page to the infobox and see how it looks. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 14:04, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
