Kalyan Singh's Tenure

[edit]

Kalyan Singh's tenure in the 13th Assembly was interrupted in 1998 by a 3-day period during which Jagdambika Pal was the chief minister. Kalyan Singh moved the High Court and was reinstated 3 days later. References:

Request a consensus on Akhilesh Yadav CM tenure

[edit]

There seems to be an edit war going on the tenure of Akhilesh Yadav. As the citation clearly indicates he was asked to carry on until a new arrangement is reached. I recommend the tenure of Akhilesh Yadav ends on 19 March 2017 even though he resigned on 11 March 2017 he was care taker CM until next CM was sworn in. [1]Amal biyani (talk) 12:48, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the fact that his tenure end date should be 19 March even though he did submit his resignation on 11 March. The Governor did ask him to continue on until alternate arrangements were made which in this case means a new CM was appointed. This link to the official UP CM website should put this to an end. Agree with 19 March.—indopug (talk) 14:01, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The Hindi names are pointless - this is the English Wikipedia. - Sitush (talk) 17:41, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Statistics table removed

[edit]

This statistics table is duplicating the tenure information from the first table. The graph gives the same information. So I have removed the table. Venkat TL (talk) 18:53, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 21 September 2023

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: No consensus, with a broad sentiment that a new discussion on all similar articles about Indian chief ministers would be preferred (closed by non-admin page mover) BegbertBiggs (talk) 14:23, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The content in this article is not just a list but the post of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh is well defined with list just a part of this article. Also there is no article for the post. Shaan SenguptaTalk 14:27, 21 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

At this pace we won't reach consensus hence I am pinging some members of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian politics.

@Shaan Sengupta: I'd like you to open a discussion at WP:INB for the "global" changes and also put a link of this discussion there. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:52, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Fylindfotberserk I would have gladly accepted this had I known the process to do it. Therefore I am requesting to do it, afterall its your call and you are the one who suggested this. Shaan SenguptaTalk 12:41, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment-It does not matter what the article name is, This is a mild issue. I neither oppose nor support it.
Lionel Messi Lover (talk) 13:19, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Lionel Messi Lover This isn't a mild issue. Imagine there is no page that goes by the name Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. And not only this there are maybe one or just two pages for CMs of other states. We have to correct this. I would still request you to vote. Shaan SenguptaTalk 14:02, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose- The Chief Minister of States are named in many states like List of chief ministers of Assam, if the renaming happens, this would be used to remain every article which is not benificial and time-worthy rather than to make constructive edits.
