Move?

[edit]
The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was no consensus. —harej (T) 06:53, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If editors form a consensus that Azerbaijani names should be written with a Latin transliteration from what the Cyrillic representation of the name would be, and there is a standard transliteration used by authoritative English-language sources or WP editors agree on such a transliteration, then there is no problem keeping the article name where it is now. Absent such a consensus, however, WP:UE#No_established_usage prescribes the native spelling of the club's name. Moreover, the club was formed after the Soviet-era Cyrillic alphabet was disestablished, so in this case, there is no old Cyrillic form from which to transliterate. --Atemperman (talk) 18:33, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also, it seems curious that the admin found there to be no consensus. Two editors supported the move, and two neither supported nor opposed it.--Atemperman (talk) 18:33, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. The easiest way to deal with it would be to reopen a move request. you could also try to appeal it at WT:RM but there is no formal appeals process and admins generally don't like their judgments questioned (though I'm not assuming this of User:harej per WP:AGF). I undid the no consensus move to Olimpik-Shuvalan to clarify the issue. — AjaxSmack 00:46, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Azal arena.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:Azal arena.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

To take part in any discussion, or to review a more detailed deletion rationale please visit the relevant image page (File:Azal arena.jpg)

I've merged and redirect History of AZAL PFC to here because I can't see a reason for the split. The article and section aren't big enough to warrant their own page. Plus (with a few changes) the content was copied directly over and there was not attribution. Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 04:46, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
