COI edit request 2020-04-16

[edit]

@Matthew hk: Hello Matthew, I just heard back from Capital Bay, they do not have an official statement yet, but they provided me with the source below, is that enough? [1] SeverinePentahotels (talk) 16:46, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well all i could do is delete Rosewood from parent company and owner parameters of the infobox. While there is lack of news reporting on the transaction, i don't want to add more speculative detail on why /when/how the owner changed from Rosewood to 360 Operator / Centrifuge Holding . Also i can't find any info in Centrifuge Holding 's alleged official website. http://www.centrifugeholding.com/ Matthew hk (talk) 19:18, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Also, Rosewood Hotel Group also removed the brand Penta from its official website. https://www.rosewoodhotelgroup.com/en-us/our-brands Matthew hk (talk) 20:00, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Chow Tai Fook and New World

[edit]

Chow Tai Fook and New World Development are two different identity despite they are associate companies . Also please don't assume New World Group / New World in those news article equal New World Hospitality, as there is a separate company in the Chow Tai Fook-New World Group that also involve in hotel: New World Hotels (Holdings). Matthew hk (talk) 05:39, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also, including Renaissance Hotels into the content is a bad idea. Since New World has sold Renaissance Hotels in 1997. While in 2013, New World acquired Penta from its parent company Chow Tai Fook, which imply Penta brand may be not part of 1997 sale and was privatized by Chow Tai Fook at some point. But seem there are too little source, including such a fragmented timeline of ownership into the article is a bad idea. Matthew hk (talk) 05:44, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Edits for the listing

[edit]

@Matthew hk: Hello Matthew & Wikipedia admins, I hope someone can see this message. I had this posted on the talk page but didn't receive any reply so I am trying here. Finally have enough reliable sources and would like to make many changes to the listing, as we noticed there are many mistakes as well as a lot of missing and outdated information. I created a word document with how the article should look like (outdated and wrong info dismissed, new & reliable info added). I have been unable to load the file for some reason so here is a link that will automatically download the full article: http://pentahotels.com/docs/Wikipedia%20full%20article.docx Does someone take care of adapting the article? I have been told I should not do any direct changes to the listing as I am employed by Penta Hotels, but I am happy to do so if I get permission. Thanks! SeverinePentahotels (talk) 14:48, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

For transparency you should post it here. May be Talk page is sufficient, or Draft:Pentahotels (New version) (which other editor can fix the wiki code, ref problem and remove not suitable content overthere). Once it is done editor can copy content from there to here Pentahotels and turn the draft into mainspace redirect (and tag with with {{Redirect with history}})
Also, i am not an admin. In theory experienced editor can also review this kind of COI edit and implement them if they pass the wikipedia guidelines. Next time you can just tag the talk page with the template {{request edit}} and no need to tag me. I am busy with the wiki of the game i am playing. Matthew hk (talk) 07:00, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, post your proposed draft here, as a draft, or in your user sandbox. There's no way for Wikipedia to ensure a draft on Pentahotels' website is always accessible; hence, for our own recordkeeping we need a local copy. Post another edit request when you are ready. Altamel (talk) 17:24, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

{{request edit}} @Altamel: Hi, makes sense. Please find below my proposed listing. You could copy paste the updated text blocks. Other than that, I just updated the main name, added the list of properties, and added/removed references. I think the sources should be sufficient but let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Penta Hotels (The header should be Penta Hotels and not Pentahotels in one word - Penta Hotels is the brand/company name and Pentahotel is used for describing a specific hotel, for example Pentahotel Brussels Airport)

• Introduction

Penta Hotels is a lifestyle hotel brand with 27 operating hotels under the brand across Europe and Asia as of 2020.[2] The hallmark of the hotels is the Pentalounge - a combination of lounge, bar, café and reception – that stands out with its living room look and feel.[3] Penta's hotels feature Penta PlayerPad Rooms, a unique suite category featuring gaming consoles and other arcades facilities.[4][5] The brand also pioneered the "check in at the bar" concept.[7] Penta collaborates with companies who share their desire to shape a sustainable future for the planet and their staff wear organic, recycled uniforms by Dutch brand Kuyichi (source: https://www.pentahotels.com/about-us/partners)

• Infobox

Parent: Arountown SA (instead of Centrifuge Holding GmbH, source: https://www.aroundtown.de/fileadmin/user_upload/04_investor_relations/downloads/2019/AT_FY_2019_financials_presentation.pdf)

• Please remove the Business overview part, we think it is enough to have everything mentioned in the intro. The employees wearing Diesel Jeans is not uptodate anymore.

• 1.1. Original Penta Hotels chain

The company was first established in 1971 as Penta Hotels. It was named Penta because it was a joint venture between five airlines[8] - Lufthansa, Swissair, Alitalia, BOAC and BEA. The chain operated large hotels in major airline hubs across Europe and eventually throughout the world, providing accommodation to crews from the partner airlines. In 1993, German investor Dieter Bock, one of the chain's owners, arranged its sale to Hong Kong businessman Cheng Yu-tung,[10] who was the founder and majority owner of Chow Tai Fook group and its associate company New World Development. From 1992, Renaissance Hotels, a second-tier subsidiary of New World, acquired the management rights of 21 Penta hotels in Europe.[11][12] In June 1995, New World Development's hotel operations were consolidated into Renaissance Hotel Group[10] and the Penta Hotels brand disappeared from the market. New World Development sold Renaissance Hotel Group to Marriott International in 1997.[15]

• 1.2. Modern Pentahotels chain

New World Group relaunched the hotel chain as Pentahotels in 2007,[16][17] targeted as a boutique lifestyle brand.[17] The philosophy of the newly launched chain was to create a new generation of hotels with a relaxed, casual atmosphere to turn the stay into a lifestyle experience. A new interior concept was created by Italian designer Matteo Thun, which moved away from the typical hotel reception counter to create an open space feeling with a boundless combination of lobby, reception, restaurant and bar. Pentahotel Shanghai was opened in October 2008 by New World China Land's New World Hotel Management Limited.[19] In 2011, The Courtyard by Marriott Beijing has was converted into Pentahotel Beijing.[20] Pentahotel Reading opened in 2009 (source: https://www.thecaterer.com/news/hotel/pentahotel-reading) and was Pentahotels' first UK location.[22] An additional five properties were opened in the UK in 2013 (source: https://www.bighospitality.co.uk/Article/2013/03/04/Pentahotels-to-open-five-UK-venues-in-2013), as well as Pentahotel Prague as the first Pentahotel in the Czech Republic. In 2013, Pentahotels also opened its first location in Hong Kong,[23] with a second one opening in 2016.[6] Chow Tai Fook group, via a subsidiary CTF Development, acquired 5 hotels in Belgium in April 2013 to be managed by Penta Hotels after renovation.[24] In December 2013, New World Hospitality (now Rosewood Hotel Group), acquired Penta Hotels' European operations, from Chow Tai Fook Enterprises, for €13.5 million.[26] Rosewood Hotel Group was privatized by Chow Tai Fook Enterprises in 2015. In 2016, Penta Hotels launched the Penta Player Pad, a room type catering to gamers with a gamer-themed design, PlayStation 4, and arcade style game machines like pinball or table football. [4][5] The brand also launched its first location in France, in Paris.[27] In 2017 Eugène Staal was named president of the group.[30] and Pentahotels named its first executive chef, John King.[29] The Pentahotel Moscow location opened in February 2019 in the Book House building complex.[31] In 2020, Penta Hotels Worldwide GmbH is owned by Aroundtown SA (source: https://www.aroundtown.de/fileadmin/user_upload/04_investor_relations/downloads/2019/AT_FY_2019_financials_presentation.pdf) and the Penta Hotels brand is operated by 360 Operator GmbH, a subsidiary of Centrifuge Holding GmbH.[1] On 1st February 2020, Penta Hotels announced Rogier Braakman as its new managing director. • 2. Sustainability

In recent years, Penta has increasingly embraced corporate social responsibility as part of their ideology and culture (source: https://technologymagazine.com/company/pentahotels-digitally-perfecting-guest-experience). In 2018, they removed plastic straws from all EU hotels and launched a campaign to amass volunteer hours through social media engagement, which were donated to support social work in Pentahotel neighbourhoods. (sources: https://partner.booking.com/en-gb/click-magazine/what-i-wish-i-knew-little-kindness-goes-long-way, https://www.facebook.com/pentahotels/posts/10155395535921766/) During 2019, Penta distributed over 2000 insect hotels to their partners and clients to combat the decline in bee populations (sources: http://www.hotel-magazine.co.uk/the-hive-is-alive-pentahotels-give-away-2000-insect-hotels-worldwide-to-help-save-the-declining-bee-population, , all 28 hotels plus the head office engaged in community clean ups on World Clean-up Day, and they collaborated with Boardmasters festival for a Beach Clean Tour across Europe to raise awareness on the consumption of plastic. (sources: https://www.boutiquehotelnews.com/blog/on-the-beach, https://www.boardmasters.com/beachcleantour, https://www.presseportal.de/en/pm/108628/4384206). From November 2019, Penta ran a ‘Souper Heroes’ initiative to donate soup to people in need over the winter period, raising over €13,000 for local charity partners and donating more than 6,300 soups. {{request edit}} Hi, not sure why on the page there is the remark "This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined."? I displayed on my user page that I am employes by Penta Hotels. Will the edits I proposed above be implemented? As "Individuals with a conflict of interest, particularly those representing the subject of the article, are strongly advised not to directly edit the article" I am not sure if I should just wait for someone to edit the listing? Thanks in advance! SeverinePentahotels (talk) 07:47, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Waiting for clarification

[edit]

I will post this a last time, can someone please amend the changes I posted a while ago above or let me know if I am allowed to edit the listing directly?

Thanks! SeverinePentahotels (talk) 13:35, 27 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

{{request edit}} Good morning. I understand that I should not change the listing directly and that this has been rejected. However I posted the "new" updated article weeks ago and haven't heard back since. Can someone please advice on what I should do? Thanks in advance SeverinePentahotels (talk) 08:27, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your {{edit COI}} wasn't properly formed because you had added "t|" in front of it. I've fixed it above so that your request will appear in the queue. Toohool (talk) 17:57, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @SeverinePentahotels:, thanks for posting an edit request. Before looking at your request I edited the article to remove off-topic and claims not supported by the article's sources. Below you will find my response for each section in your request. Please note: I might have missed some proposed changes due to the formatting of the request. If something was not commented on below or if there are more requested changes, please follow the instructions in Template:Request edit/Instructions.
  • Introduction: declined. This section reads too much as WP:PROMOTION
  • Infobox: declined. The provided source does not confirm that all the Pentahotels were acquired. Please provide another source (preferably one that is WP:SECONDARY)
  • Business overview: partial. The intro (or WP:LEDE) is a summary of the contents in the body of the article, and thus information in the lede should also be in the body. However, I decided to delete the info in the introduction. I deleted the info about the jeans.
  • 1.2: partial. I added the caterer info and link. I declined the five hotels in the UK source because it says it will open (emphasis mine), not that is has opened. I suggest finding another source to confirm this information. I declined the aroundtown info and source per what I stated in the infobox decline above. I declined the hospitality.net info because the source is unreliable; the website accepts user submissions as described in the "Contact Us" section.
  • Sustainability: declined. Per, WP:PROMO Wikipedia is not a place for promoting causes and the info does not fulfil WP:NPOV.
  • Locations: declined. Wikipedia is not a WP:DIRECTORY
  • Referenced: declined. We do not delete references because they are old or outdated.
Please post below or on my talk page if you have any questions or concerns. Z1720 (talk) 20:16, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
