[edit]

Use same shade of red as in Template:Abot:

Diff:

<strong style="color:red">Please do not modify it.</strong>
+
<b style="color: var(--color-error, red);">Please do not modify it.</b>

The reverse diff can be made if it's better; I'm out-of-date on HTML practice. Ursus arctos californicus (talk) 23:52, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The strong element has semantic meaning; the b element doesn't. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 06:25, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not done as there is disagreement above, please resolve via discussion first. — xaosflux Talk 10:33, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
How about <strong style="color: var(--color-error, red);"> for both? Ursus arctos californicus (talk) 21:31, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK,  Done --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 08:17, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Unintended styling changes?

[edit]

It looks like Special:Diff/1242490659 (probably adding the new CSS file) caused the font size to be larger and bolded (haven't looked if there are other likely unexpected changes). On vector2022 and timeless it's noticeably bigger. For V2022, it appears to end up being 17.6px (110%) for the archive top box text, while the main body text is 100% and 16px. Not sure if it's intended or not, as the edit summaries only mention dark mode. Pinging @Sohom Datta per edit summary. Skynxnex (talk) 04:51, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted for now. The issue appears to be that styles moved from |abovestyles= were applied to the whole side box rather than just the |above= text. SilverLocust 💬 05:32, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That was a unintended change on my end, @SilverLocust, @Skynxnex could you check if the current sandbox version is identical to the old template ? (I have corrected the issue, but it wouldn't hurt to get a code review). Sohom (talk) 12:56, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see a recent version of the main template that's identical to the current sandbox markup, if that's what you mean. The preview in the sandbox looks fine to me but I haven't looked into comparing light vs dark for them. Skynxnex (talk) 13:57, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Skynxnex, I updated Template:Archive top/sandbox/styles.css to fix the issue. (Feel free to test in the testcases page if you want to test any specific functionality). In theory both should be identical. Sohom (talk) 14:04, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Sohom Datta: Looks good to me. SilverLocust 💬 16:40, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sandbox version looks fine to me as well. Skynxnex (talk) 20:16, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see any CSS style applied to class "side-box-abovebelow" for |status= in the live version. (Firefox, Windows 10, desktop, default theme) Rjjiii (talk) 20:51, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Should now be fixed. Sohom (talk) 22:05, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It works, and no issues with dark mode. Many thanks, Rjjiii (talk) 21:43, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dark mode gadget

[edit]

Hi, something in this edit makes most of the text invisible to users of the green on black gadget. DuncanHill (talk) 17:12, 8 October 2024 (UTC)

Moved from my talk page. That edit should not be responsible for the issue and I don't want to chase down what might have. (I suspect adding support for the WMF dark mode has broken something here, in which case the gadget sounds like it may need to be modified.) Izno (talk) 17:16, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Izno: Sohom Datta has kindly fixed it here. DuncanHill (talk) 17:47, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Width change of gray box

[edit]

Hi team, noticed the width of the gray closer's note box has been (roughly) halved, and isn't especially readable now. Was this a byproduct of any recent change? Cheers, Daniel (talk) 22:15, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Daniel: Please give an example of where this has happened. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 22:29, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Redrose64, WP:ANI is where I noticed it. Has changed over the past day or so from what I have seen. For example, Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Well-meaning,_but_chronically_disruptive,_editing_from_TheNuggeteer the close now goes over 15 lines (yesterday it was like 4 or 5). Thanks, Daniel (talk) 22:42, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
