Thought you would be interested to note that an anonymous user is insisting on the removal of the official logo you uploaded and added to the USC article infobox, even though they have no good reason for the deletion. You can weigh in on the debate at the Talk page of the article. GarnetAndBlack (talk) 23:35, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

FCS Independents Map

[edit]

The map you made linked to the article "NCAA Division I FCS independent schools" is incorrect. You accidentally highlighted Alabama instead of Georgia. It needs to be fixed, and I don't know how to do something like that. You obviously do, so I figured I'd bring it to your attention. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.53.52.244 (talk) 22:34, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion for WikiProject United States to support WikiProject Maryland

[edit]

It was recently suggested that WikiProject Maryland might be inactive or semiactive and it might be beneficial to include it in the list of projects supported by WikiProject United States. I have started a discussion on the projects talk page soliciting the opinions of the members of the project if this project would be interested in being supported by WikiProject United States. Please feel free to comment on your opinions about this suggestion. --Kumioko (talk) 03:08, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Political party strength in Michigan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Gary Peters. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Map of US states by unemployment rate

[edit]

Hi. You've reverted my changes to this map in your latest update. I guess if you're doing the updates, you're entitled to do them the way you want (and after all you created the map to begin with), but I thought I'd set out why I made the changes I did.

The new colour scheme is because a user complained, on the file's talk page, that he couldn't read the map and had to go back to the old blue map to tell which states had high unemployment and which had low unemployment. I put the map through a colour blindness simulator (see http://colorfilter.wickline.org/?j=1;t=a) for example and had to concede that he had a point. I found the old blue map hard to read, so I adopted the new colour scheme as a compromise.

The rebasing is because unemployment had fallen, of course, but looking at the historical figures it didn't seem to have fallen particularly low, and yet the map as it was presented a rosy view of unemployment. I had been planning not to rebase again, in either direction, however unemployment moved in the future.Armouredduck (talk) 20:56, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

List of ongoing conflicts

[edit]

Dear fellow "shark" editor, i would just like to note you that removing conflicts from the list of ongoing military conflicts should not be made, every time when there is some "cease-fire" or "peace" agreement (like your edit). This is because 95% of such agreements fail within a short time. The criteria to remove an active conflict from the wikipedia list is no reported casualties within the past calendar year. As of the end of 2014, only Korean conflict and Conflict in the Niger Delta have produced no casualties for over a year and may be removed.GreyShark (dibra) 13:11, 24 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Shark sculpturefountainatnight.JPG.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the image description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.

Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. Kelly hi! 12:37, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Ocucrestlaw.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
