Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Mvieta101, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited appears to be an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page. If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to it, please propose the changes on its talk page.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Question

[edit]

Hello, this page is not an autobiography. I created the login: Mvieta101 for creating this page. Can I delete this page and re-create it from a different account? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mvieta101 (talkcontribs) 13:48, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I can delete the page for you if you like, but it would be OK to create a new account and carry on editing the same page. I can also rename the page with the name of your new account if you like, which I think is probably the best choice. Let me know if you want me to either rename or delete the page.JBW (talk) 14:07, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Another way to eliminate any confusion as to whether you're Marcelo Vieta would be to request a username change at Wikipedia:Changing username/Simple. 78.28.44.31 (talk) 14:19, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

My personal wikipedia id is: ashpillai. If we rename this page as you suggest, will I be able to retain the page tiltle as 'Marcelo Vieta'? I need to keep the name, Marcelo Vieta as the page title. Mvieta101 (talk) 14:33, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Ashpillai: It's a fairly common mistake to create a username based on the subject one is writing about. While editing using more than one account is allowed, within certain limits, there is no reason to create a new account just because you are writing about a new subject. I advise you to abandon this Mvieta101 account, never edit with it again, and in the future use your ashpillai account. Using the Mvieta101 account might viewed as impersonation.
Drafts can be edited by any editor. There is no reason the draft would need to renamed just because you switched to using your established account.
The COI declaration does not belong on the draft page; best is if it appears on your user page.
Good luck with the draft. It looks like you need to do a lot more work with references, since there are still statements with no inline citations. You should also more explicitly say what he is notable for. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 15:19, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
