[edit]

I note that you have reverted me on Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers. I beleive that the text I removed was a cut-and-paste from http://www.army.mod.uk/royalengineers/units/28725.aspx which makes it a copyright violation and is not allowed on Wikipedia. Please read WP:COPYVIO. If you disagree, please go to the talk page to discuss before putting this material back in, per WP:BRD. Hamish59 (talk) 11:58, 8 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm sorry I've had to block this account, because Wikipedia does not allow accounts representing groups or organizations, but only individual people. So that means The Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia) cannot have an account here - although individual members are very much welcome to create their own individual accounts if they wish to help us build the encyclopedia. If you have any questions, please feel free to head over to my talk page (there's a link to it in my signature). Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 13:12, 8 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Actually, I see elsewhere that you are the Regimental Operations Support Warrant Officer, so you could keep this account if you wish, providing that only you personally use it and that it is renamed so that it does not represent the regiment as a group. If you would prefer that, please make a request below using the {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} template. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 13:19, 8 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Finally, one more thing (sorry this is coming in bits and pieces, and sorry there is so much to take in). You have said that you have been instructed to edit Wikipedia in a paid professional capacity, so you would also need to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's policy on paid editing - its at WP:PAID. This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Requested username:

Request reason:

to align username with Wikipedia policy i.e. representing individual not group whilst also making blatant this users connection to organisation even before declaring COI, maintaining users anonymity for security reasons

Accept reason:

I've unblocked so you can put in a request for a username change (sorry, but this is a two-step process as admins cannot do the renaming). Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid possible re-blocking. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 16:13, 8 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
