Bermondsey, Surrey

[edit]

I don't know why you believe Bermondsey to have been in Kent. It was in Surrey. For example, try searching for Bermondsey in the E 179 Database; or have a look at the Victoria County History for Surrey, volume 4, at British History Online. I trust that we can agree to give Surrey as the historical county in the article for Bermondsey. Nortonius (talk) 14:55, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have just added a reliable source (one of those Nortonius pointed out above) to the article confirming that Bermondsey indeed was in the county of Surrey. If you disagree, please discuss the issue on the article's talk page. Just reverting back and forth is called edit warring and is considered disruptive even when you're right. In particular, there's a "three-revert rule" which states you should not revert changes to an article more than thrice in 24 hours; breaking that rule may see you blocked from editing. Bermondsey

[edit]

Bermondsey is in the greater London area which is in Kent not Surrey as I am a London resident I know what is happening around me also I have multiple sources but I do not remember what they are called if you say it is in Surrey I will have to report you to Wikipedia saying you are supplying false information

As I said, this should be discussed on the article's talk page. Then other editors interested in the topic can also weigh in. You're welcome to present your sources there once you remember what they are. Also, it's not Nortonius or me saying Bermondsey is in Surrey, but rather the Victoria County History - we just reproduce what they say, and the article's readers can verify that the source indeed places Bermondsey in the historic county of Surrey. I have just remembered my sources they are google maps, bing maps and southwark council (the council that runs bermondsey and southwark), if you dont belive me look on a real life map, bermondsey is in the south of london which is greater london and greater london is in the kent area, you cannot argue with common sense, if you continue supplying false information from false sources I will report you to wikipedia for threatening me and engaging in an editing war. From TheGreaterLondonEditor at 10:00am 14/01/2018.

As I said twice before, the place to discuss that is the article's talk page at Talk:Bermondsey. I'll reply there to the substance of your argument. If you wish to "report" me, I'd suggest trying dispute resolution. Please note that "common sense" is not a valid substitute for reliable sources. Huon (talk) 14:28, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and thank you for your recent contribution. I appreciate the effort you made for our project, but unfortunately I had to undo your edit because I believe the article was better before you made that change. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions. Thank you! ‑ ‑ Gareth Griffith‑Jones The Welsh Buzzard ‑ ‑ 14:54, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
