Peace in art or War in art?

[edit]

(Moved from Wikipedia talk:Peace Treaties in Art 30 x 30 Challenge/Score Iñaki LL (talk) 11:53, 22 June 2016 (UTC))[reply]

Hello,

I'm a French wikipedia contributor, and have created Représentation de la paix dans l'art (Representation of peace in art), and Représentation de la guerre dans l'art (Representation of war in art) already existed.

I think it's important here to make a difference, and to treat exclusively the subjets representing peace.

Muchachos jugando a soldados (kids playing war), La rendición de Breda (battle), Combate de mujeres (fight), etc. don't seem to be part of this subjet, in my opinion.

What do you think?

Bonjour Daehan ! Thanks for your query, it will help others guide themselves through this tematic maze:) You are not without reason and these very doubts were posed by some of us. The contest relies on the artworks showcased in the Peace treaty exhibitions opening presently in Donostia-San Sebastián, hence the name of the challenge. It addresses peace in its different stages and facets, not as a static category but dynamic, implying that actions or events reminscent of violence may take place during peacetime, also at the conclusion or begininning of it. Admittedly, you may find a couple of artworks that are overtly related to war, but it is about peace. Voilà Iñaki LL (talk) 15:21, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
