Biography

[edit]

Alain Faubert was born on 4 April 1965 in Montréal. He studied at the Collège Laval, Collège Marie-Victorin and Major Seminary of Montréal and was ordained on 9 June 1995 for the Archdiocese of Montreal. He served as an assistant pastor for five years—he served as parish vicar of Saint-Urbain, Sainte-Dorothée (1995–2000)—before studying theology at the Institut Catholique de Paris and at Laval University in Quebec City, taking a doctorate from that university in 2010. In 2004, he resumed pastoral work in Saint-Germain d'Outremont, Montreal, while also teaching at the Institut de formation théologique de Montréal, as well as serving as Assistant to the Director of the Diocesan Office for Faith Education and deputy moderator of the Curia. In 2011, Faubert was appointed Episcopal Vicar of the eastern region of the Archdiocese of Montreal and was also named a monsignor (Chaplain of His Holiness) in May of the same year.[5][1]

He was appointed titular bishop of Vicus Pacati and auxiliary of Montréal on 19 April 2016, and received episcopal consecration the following 15 June.[1]
