Ali Ihusaan is a Maldivian politician who serves as the minister of Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology.[1] On 17 November 2023, he was appointed as Homeland Minister by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. He also served as a member of Maldives Monetary Authority.[2]
Early life and education
[edit]Ihusan obtained a bachelor's degree in the United States Military Academy. He is the first non-US citizen to be appointed as Brigade Executive Officer in the United States Corps of Cadets. He completed a master's degree in Business Administration from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and did further air-borne trainings with the US military.[3][4]
Career
[edit]Ihusaan served in the Maldives National Defence Force until he voluntarily retired in 2017. He retired as captain. After that he entered politics in 2021 and joined Maldives National Party (MNP) and left in 2022.[5] He joined the People's National Congress (Maldives) in 2022.
