Bipolaris is a genus of fungi belonging to the family Pleosporaceae. It was circumscribed by mycologist Robert A. Shoemaker in 1959.[1]

It has a cosmopolitan distribution worldwide.[2]

As of 9 August 2023, the GBIF lists up to 71 species,[2] while Species Fungorum lists 78 species.[3]
