Coleochaetaceae is a family of algae.[1] It is the only family in the Coleochaetales,[2] an order of parenchymous charophyte algae,[3] within the class Coleochaetophyceae. It includes some of the closest multicellular relatives of land plants.[4][5] It contains the genus Coleochaete and questionably includes the fossil genus Parka.
