Black is an upcoming American superhero drama film based on the comic book of the same name.

Plot

Young Kareem Jenkins joins a secret underground group of black super heroes and must choose between personal revenge against cops or collective action to achieve real and lasting change.

On August 3, 2017, Studio 8 has acquired the rights to the Black Mask Studios’ comic book series Black with Jon Silk, Rishi Rajani, Matt Pizzolo, Kwanza Osajyefo and Tim Smith producing the film.[1] On April 23, 2018, Seith Mann was hired to write the script.[2] On October 1, 2020, it was revealed that Warner Bros acquired the project and Bryan Edward Hill was hired to write the script.[3] In March 2022, it was announced that the film was would instead be written and directed by Gerard McMurray.[4]
