Caidy Andrea Castillo Nelson (born 13 August 2008) is a Filipino-American footballer who plays as a defender for the Philippines women's national under-17 football team and Jacksonville High School Cardinals varsity soccer team.

Early Life

Nelson currently attends Jacksonville High School in North Carolina, where she plays for the Cardinals varsity soccer team.[1][2] She helped the Cardinals win their first ever NCHSAA 3A state championship title over South Point 3–2 on penalty kicks during her sophomore year.[3][4][5] She also plays youth club soccer for Wilmington Hammerheads of Elite Clubs National League.[6][7]

International career

In January 2024, Nelson was first called up for the Philippines U-17 national team, where she attended a training camp with the Filipinas U17 in California, USA.[8] In February 2024, she was named to the Philippines U-17 team roster for friendlies against England U-17 and Sweden U-17 at 2024 MIMA Cup in Spain.[9]

In May 2024, Nelson was selected as part of the Filipinas U17 squad for the 2024 AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup in Bali, Indonesia.[10][11][12][13] She made her international debut on 9 May in a match against North Korea U-17. She then started in the following match against South Korea U-17, which ended in a 1–1 draw.[14][15][16][17]
