After they traversed several European countries, her family finally settled in Mitau, where they lived with prominent members of the royal family coming from France.
Eventually Corisande located herself in the midst of England, she was brought up in the household of her grandmother's friend, Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire. On the property, she grew up alongside Lady Caroline Ponsonby, who went on to become known as the notorious Lady Caroline Lamb.[4][5]
