Daniel Sheppard (born July 17, 1987) is an American artist known for his work in the art and film industry, particularly in the realm of audio production and art. His notable projects include Roger Waters - Us + Them (2019)[1], The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017)[1] and America's Got Talent (2006).[1][2][3]

Early life and education

Sheppard was born and raised in Long Island, New York.[1] His father worked as an elevator engineer, while his mother was a hair specialist. Growing up, Sheppard was involved in music, skateboarding, and attending local shows and concerts.[1]  He developed a strong interest in art and music from a young age, often experimenting with various mediums.[1] Sheppard's early exposure to music included playing with his sister's Casio keyboard, which he still uses for music composition to this day. During his teenage years, Sheppard was involved in a punk band called Dispatch Radio, which even had the opportunity to open for The Wailers at a venue in Farmingdale.  He began exploring film making as an alternative to traditional academic pursuits, teaching himself video editing using VHS players and DVD converters. He attended Bethpage High School. After high school[3],  Sheppard pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree at the School of Visual Arts.[5]  During this time, he acquired his first professional computer and taught himself software tools like Final Cut Pro and Pro Tools. Sheppard worked diligently to support himself through college, taking on freelance roles as a camera operator and assistant editor for companies such as Atlantic Records and XXL Magazine. Career

Following his college years, Sheppard started his journey towards a successful career in the film and arts industry. He gained recognition for his work on various projects, including television shows like Roger Waters's us and them, A Thousand and one, Little Sister, and America's Got Talent, Sheppard's contributions as a sound mixer and recordist have been widely praised in both television and film.[1][4][6]

One of Sheppard's notable achievements includes his involvement in the production of Roger Waters - Us + Them and Fallout. He has also worked on projects like The Meyerowitz Stories, Little Sister, and Phil Spector, showcasing his versatility across different genres and formats. [1][4][6]

Sheppard worked as a set dresser on Tower Heist, Boardwalk Empire, and Sex and the City 2 from 2010 to 2012.[2] In 2016, he co hosted and DJed a weekly comedy show in New York City called Big Pony, later known as Cats Comedy, with Christi Chiello and Molly Austin.  Notable guests on the show included Matt Ingerbrestson, Bridey Elliot, Molly Austin, Mike Brown, Rojo Perez, and Sydnee Washington. Sheppard released the Digital Audio Network podcast and contributed to the Pod Collage Podcast with Dan and Rob in 2024, featuring guests such as John Toon, Brooks Alison, and Katia Vannoy. In 2006, he wrote jokes for the show Yo Mamma. Sheppard has also released music with various collaborative bands, including Dispatch Radio in the 2000s, Falco Largo in the 2010s, and Digital Audio Network albums.  His notable music releases include Alex and Dan (2024), Big Danny Saves Music (2019), and Dan Quixote’s Ghost (2018). He continues to record music with his ever-expanding all-star group, Digital Audio Network. In addition, he performed voice acting on the MFFM album The Adventure of Ugly Face in 2024. [6][7][8]

Personal life

Outside of his professional endeavors, Daniel Sheppard is known for his passion for comedy and hosting round table discussions on the Digital Audio Network podcast and Pod Collage. He continues to be actively involved in the artistic community, exploring new avenues for creative expression. [6]
