Dehal is a surname in the Majha, Doaba, and Malwa regions of Punjab, primarily associated with the agrarian Jatt community. It is a small clan of Jatts, originally founded in the Multan area. Historically, the majority of the Dehal clan adhered to the Sikh faith. The Dehal clan is found in the Punjab region of both India and Pakistan. Following the partition of India in 1947, most members of the Dehal clan migrated from Multan to various parts of Punjab, India. Those who remained in Pakistan largely converted to Islam after the migration.
