Draft:Foyles Books of the Year

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Every year since 2018, the British bookseller chain Foyles has awarded standout literature – in three categories – at the Foyles Books of the Year announcement, normally in Fall around late November. Before a winner is selected, they compose a shortlist and make a decision shortly after.

The three categories are Fiction, Non-fiction, and Children's. Awards were made for fiction for the two years leading up to 2018. According to the website, the committee selects works that are their "favourites" and representing the "most interesting, most important, most year-defining titles published, recommended and sold each year."

Categories

[edit]
  • Fiction was the sole award in 2016.
  • Non-fiction was added as a category in 2017.
