Joysree BiswasJoysree Biswas (born Youg Maya; 15th June 1985) is a Bangladeshi dancer, composer, and exponent of the Lucknow "Kalka-Bindadin" Gharana of Kathak dance in India. She is a descendant of the Biswas family of dance-drama, which includes her uncle and Aunty, and she is a disciple of Guru Kazi Ripon, Guru Ashimbandhu Bhattacharya, Vidushi Madhumita Roy (Guru Maa). She is daughter of Shri Nirmal Chandro Biswas and Rila Rani Biswas.Joysree Biswas was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh and bought up in Khulna, Bangladesh. As a research scholar of ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) She is doing Doctor of Philosophy (abbreviated as Ph.D.) in Kathak Dance form The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSUB), Vadodara, Gujarat, India. She is also model and actress. She used to perform solo dance in different countries. She received many more awards from the different countries across the world.

Born and Education Research Scholar Joysree Biswas was born on 15th June 1985 in Gopalganj district, Dhaka, Bangladesh a musical family. He completed his primary education from Nirala Adarsh ​​Secondary School Address: 65/1, Nirala Abasik Alaka, Khulna Sadar, Khulna. After that She passed the secondary examination from Khulna Govt Iqbal Nagar Girls High School. After completing the secondary education, she passed higher secondary education from Govt. Pioneer Girls College, Khulna, Bangladesh. She completed her graduation degree from Azam Khan Govt. Commerce College Upper Jessore Rd, Khulna, Bangladesh. She After completing her graduation, she moved in India to complete the graduation degree on Kathak Dance from Rabindra Bharati University, Emerald Bower Campus 56A, B.T. Road, Kolkata – 700 050 and also completed her master's degree from the on Kathak Dance from the same University (Rabindra Bharati University, RBU), Kolkata, West Bengal, India. After that she got the scholarship form the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), is an autonomous organization of the Government of India, as a research scholar Doctor of Philosophy (abbreviated as Ph.D.) in Kathak Dance form The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSUB), Vadodara, Gujarat, India.

Acting and Dancing Career

Joysree started career as a dance performer and actress at Bangladesh Television. She also performed solo and group dancer in the different cities in Bangladesh like- Mirpur Indoor Stadium on the occasion of Victory Day Celebration Bangladesh with collaboration with (The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation 'SAARC'), Umesh Chandra Public Library (Khulna, Bangladesh), Zia Hall (Khulna, Bangladesh), Khulna Press Club (Khulna, Bangladesh), 14 Rifles Battalion in Sylhet Border Guard (Bangladesh, BGB), Savar Cantonment ( Dhaka, Bangladesh), Ekushey Television (Dhaka, Bangladesh),Teacher-Student Centre, University of Dhaka(Dhaka, Bangladesh), All Community Club Ltd (ACCL, Dhaka, Bangladesh), Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium( Khulna, Bangladesh),The Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC); at Dhanmondi, Dhaka in Bangladesh etc. Besides the dance she also played a role as a ad main role model in Ektee Bari Ektee Khamar project - Bangladesh government social welfare program in Dhaka Bangladesh, also played role as a main model about 'Monga' which is a Bengali term referring to the yearly cyclical phenomenon of poverty and hunger in Bangladesh. On the other side she also played character as a main model for ad shooting about on Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC. (IBBPLC). She also played a main role in the short web film as a lead role in Nodir Chokhe Jol, Linnet TV.

Joysree also choreographed dance on the composed music for many Indian and Bangladeshi songs. Some of the performances that she choreographed and performed in Bangladesh Book Fair, song written by (Consul General of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh -Dubai, UAE) artist, poet and diplomat B. M. Jamal Hossain, tone and voice by Rimita Mukherjee in 2022 and 2023. Arter reaching India Joysree also used to perform in Deputy High Commission for the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Kolkata; from 2014-2018 accordingly different occasion like Victory Day Celebration (Bijay Utsav), Independence Day, International Mother Language Day (21 February) of Bangladesh. In 2016 she performed in Sundarbans Folk Festival, organized by Sundarbans Development Niketan. She also performed in 16th BARABATI NRUTYOTSABA, Festival of Classical, Folk Dance and Music in Cuttack, Odisha, India. Joysree performed at Margi Utsav on the occasion of Srijani Mela organized by Prof. Om Prakash Bharti (Director, EZCC) Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, at Srijani Shilpgram, Bolpur 24-26 December,2016 in West Bengal, India. In 2019 Joysree performed and directed her team 25nos of artist at 70th Dhnuyatra Mahotsav, world's largest open art theatre, organized and awarded by Dhanuyatra Mahotsav Samiti, Bargarh, Odisha, India. She performed dance at International Mega Dance Festival organized by Smruti Cultural Association in 2022 at Puri, Odisha, India. She also got Maya Ratna award by Smruti Cultural Association in 2022 at Puri, Odisha, India. Joysree also got reward as a celebrity guest artist in a game show named Didi No. 1. Directed by Avijit Sen, presented by Pushpita Mukherjee, Rachana Banerjee, June Malia, Debashree Roy hosted by Rachna Banerjee and Produced by Zee Bangla. Joysree also got National Women Empowerment Award (Rising Star of the Year) organized by Woman Times, in 2019 at ICCR, Kolkata, India. She also performed in Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium on the occasion of Victory Day Celebration (Bijay Utsav) organized by Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner- Kolkata, Zokey Ahad in 2016, West Bengal, India. After performing and receiving the Guest of Honour in Bangladesh Book Fair, song written and festival organized by (Consul General of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh -Dubai, UAE) artist, poet and diplomat B. M. Jamal Hossain in 2022,2023, Joysree performed in Top 10 Remittance Superhero Award-2024, and she received special honored and rewarded by Channel-i at Umm Al-Moumineen Women’s Association, Sharjah city in the United Arab Emirates. She also performed in the Concert Hall of Performing Arts in the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, in 2024, Vadodara, Gujarat, India.

  Educational Journey

Joysree achieved the certificate from the Commissioner of Bangladesh Scouts, Khulna Zila Rover organized at Rupsha Degree College which was held on 15/03/06-19/03/06, at Khulna, Bangladesh. Joysree gave her presentation on The Ashtalakshmi Sant Vichar Sammelan which was held at Agartala, Tripura, India on 9th and 10th December,2022 and received the award by the deputy Chief minister Shri Jishnu Dev Varma. After that she participated in the National Seminar on Educational Philosophy of Sri Aurobindo got certificate from Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Srivastava (Vice Chancellor) in 2023 under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India at Vadodara, Gujarat, India. She also achieved the Certificate in the International Seminar on ″Decolonization of Indian Performing, Visual and Literary Arts in the Context of Indian Knowledge System″ from the Department of Indian Classical Music-Instrumental (Sitar, Violin), Faculty of Performing Arts, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat, India, organized by Prof. (Dr.) Gaurang Bhavsar (Director- International Seminar, Dean- Faculty of Performing Arts). Her written Article ″Decolonization of Bangladeshi Performing and Literary Arts in the context of Indian Knowledge System″(ISBN:978-81-969580-7-7) published by Department of Indian Classical Music -Instrumental (Sitar, Violin), Faculty of Performing Arts, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat, India. She is also doing Doctor of Philosophy (abbreviated as Ph.D.) in Kathak Dance under the guidance of Dr. Ami Pandya in the Department of Dace, Faculty of Performing Arts, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSUB), Vadodara, Gujarat, India. Her title of the thesis is " The influence of Indian Classical Dance-Kathak on the Creative Dances in Bangladesh: An analytical study (1971-2021)"
