Luka Čižmek (born April 3, 2002) is a Slovenian entrepreneur and co-founder of OrthoDental d.o.o., a dental care provider in Slovenia. He is also the founder of NokNok Media d.o.o., a marketing agency specializing in viral content.[1] Čižmek has played a role in efforts to consolidate the Slovenian dental industry.
Early Life and Education
[edit]Luka Čižmek was born in Celje, Slovenia, to Gordana Čižmek, an orthodontist, and Dušan Čižmek, a mining engineer. His parents divorced when he was two years old, after which he lived in Velenje until the age of seven. Frequent relocations during his childhood resulted in him attending five different elementary schools.
At the age of 15, Čižmek attended a bilingual high school in Klagenfurt, Austria, where instruction was conducted in both German and Slovenian. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019, he moved to Maribor, Slovenia, where he completed his high school education remotely.
Career
[edit]Čižmek began his career by exploring social media marketing, particularly on the platform TikTok. Recognizing the potential for viral content, he founded NokNok Media d.o.o. in 2020, a digital marketing agency specializing in TikTok-based marketing.[2] This venture focused on helping businesses build a digital presence on the rapidly growing platform.
In parallel, Čižmek co-founded OrthoDental d.o.o. with his mother, Gordana Čižmek. OrthoDental was established in Ljubljana to offer orthodontic and dental services, particularly in the field of invisible aligners and other advanced dental technologies.[3]
In 2023, Čižmek led the acquisition of two smaller dental clinics as part of a strategy to consolidate the Slovenian dental industry. The first acquisition took place in July 2023, followed by a second in April 2024. These acquisitions expanded OrthoDental's presence and service offerings. Due to the company's growth, OrthoDental has attracted interest from private equity firms, though Čižmek continues to oversee the company’s operations.[4]
Personal Life
[edit]Čižmek has expressed interest in maintaining personal fitness, which he views as essential for managing the stresses of entrepreneurship. He is an avid surfer and spends his free time in the Canary Islands.
