Marie Ruumet is an Estonian Muay Thai fighter known by her nickname "Snow Leopard".[1] Born in 1999 in Estonia, she has made a significant impact in the combat sports world, particularly within the ONE Championship[2] & Rajadamnern World Series (RWS).[3]
Early Life and Background
[edit]Marie Ruumet grew up in Sindi, a small town in Estonia with a population of around 4,000. As a child, she was active in various sports, including swimming, horse riding, table tennis, and hip-hop dancing. At the age of 15, she discovered Muay Thai while seeking a fitness regimen and quickly realized her passion for the sport. Within two years, she decided to pursue a professional career in Muay Thai.[1]
Career Development
[edit]In 2017, Ruumet moved to Thailand to train full-time in Muay Thai. In 2020, she became the first athlete from Estonia to join ONE Championship.[1][4] Her dedication and talent allowed her to rise through the ranks of the sport. She has faced numerous elite fighters and continues to prove her capabilities on the international stage.[5]
Currently she competes in the Rajadamnern World Series. Ruumet's journey as a fighter continues to inspire many as she represents Estonia on the global stage of Muay Thai.
