About
[edit]Open House Theatre is a Vienna-based company of dedicated arts professionals, committed to bringing high-quality, story-driven productions in the fields of theatre, film and multi-media to life.
Born out of the dissolution of the Vienna International Theatre, and animated by the vision of a highly diverse and skilled group of actors, directors and associated artists, Open House retains a strongly international ethos, in both in the composition of our core company, our wider membership and the scope of our programming.
Operating as an independent, non-political association, we are entirely self-funded, receiving no central government or city level grants to present our work.
Thus our finest resource is our people: through the hard work, craft and ingenuity of some of Vienna ́s most innovative local artists, we continually strive to bring original, lesser known and classic works of the international canon to the Viennese audience. Our seasons are structured around specific themes and issues we consider timely, relevant and worth being told.
The company ethos is determinedly story-driven, focusing on bringing new worlds of experience, insight and perspective to Vienna ́s marketplace of ideas, whilst still providing an entertaining, stimulating and enjoyable occasion to all comers.[2]
