Draft:Paper Genocide

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Paper genocide is a term that has been used to refer to ways that populations have been underrepresented via census data. It is usually used in reference to the way that Native American DNA is underreported in the population.

Examples

[edit]

In Puerto Rico in 1783, 2300 full-blooded Native Americans were reported. However, the following census in 1802 did not report there being a single Native American in Puerto Rico.[1]
