Rıfat N. Bali (b. 1948, Istanbul) is a Turkish Jewish writer, historian and independent researcher. He is a researcher who works especially on the history of Turkish Jews. He founded the publishing house LIBRA Kitap in 2008.
His Life
[edit][edit | edit source] Born in Istanbul in 1948. After completing his high school education at Saint Benoit French High School, he worked as a manager in a private company between 1970-1995. He graduated from Sorbonne University, Department of Theology in 2001. Since 1996, he has been conducting research and publishing on non-Muslim minorities, primarily Jews, anti-Semitism, conspiracy theories, and cultural and social change in Turkish society. His articles have been published in various journals, primarily History and Society, Social History, Birikim and Virgül. He has contributed to many compilations and encyclopedias with his articles, and has prepared many books for publication.
He won the Yunus Nadi Awards - Social Sciences Research Award in 2005 with his book From Anatolia to the New World, and in 2008 with his book The Chief Dentist of the Palace and the Republic, Sami Günzberg.
He is married and has two children.
