Roofman is an upcoming American crime film directed by Derek Cianfrance and starring Channing Tatum, Ben Mendelsohn and Kirsten Dunst.
Premise
[edit]The film is a biopic of the fugitive Jeffrey Manchester, a former United States Army Reserve, known colloquially as Roofman due to his propensity to steal from branches of McDonald's after entering their premises via the roof, and evaded capture from police by hiding in the roof of a Toys "R" Us store.[1]
Cast
[edit]Production
[edit]The project was announced in February 2024 with Derek Cianfrance as director from a script he wrote alongside Kirt Gunn. Dylan Sellers and Chris Parker will produce through the Limelight production company allomgside Jamie Patricof and Lynette Howell Taylor. Channing Tatum is set to play Roofman.[2] Ben Mendelsohn and Kirsten Dunst joined the cast in September 2024.[3][4] In October 2024, Miramax acquired distribution rights to the project, with its parent Paramount Pictures distributing on its behalf in the United States and select international territories.[5]
Principal photography is scheduled to begin in October 2024, in North Carolina, and it is expected to wrap in December.[6]
